Anchovy and BioCantabria Fair

The first weekend of May was a busy one! We were at the  Anchovy and Canned Food Fair in Cantabria  in Santoña, and also at the  BioCantabria  Fair in Santander. At both fairs we enjoyed a great atmosphere, a lot of camaraderie and a great desire to vindicate a job well done.

This year the  Santoña Anchovy Fair  celebrated nothing less than  its 20th anniversary!

For us, this was our fifth year of attendance and we couldn’t be more satisfied. Together with the 21 exhibiting canneries, we were able to enjoy  a gastronomic festival in a privileged location  such as the Plaza de Sant Antonio in Santoña.

We are very pleased to have been  finalists in the tasting of the best anchovy of 2019  and also for all the  congratulations received  for the flavour and cleanliness of our anchovies and for the packaging of all our products.

During the three days of the fair we made no less than  400 tapas so that the attendees could taste  our anchovies, boquerones, bonito, tapenade and brandade. We also took advantage of the opportunity to  launch our new anchovy and boquerón gildas  and… we ran out of stock on the first day!

We were also able to experience first-hand  the final of the 1st Regional Anchovy Pinchos Competition  organised by the Anchovy Brotherhood and Diario Montañés. The Café Bar Siete Villas in Santoña won the prize with its “El Capricho” pintxo, an explosion of sweet and savoury dishes with hints of the sea.

BioCantabria

At the same time we also attended BioCantabria, the  fair for organic products, healthy living and responsible consumption  in Santander.

At the fair we presented our range of organic gourmet products that follow the highest standards of  quality, fishing in season  and using  organic ingredients  for their preparation such as organic extra virgin olive oil or organic white wine vinegar.

In addition to being part of the fair as exhibitors,  we also did so as speakers!  On Sunday we explained how tradition, experience, quality of raw materials, demanding work and innovation  are our distinguishing features .

It was a real pleasure to share our experience with all the attendees and participate in 3 intense days with the rest of the exhibitors.
