2024 is not just any year for Pujadó Solano. We're celebrating! Why? Because it marks 40 years since our company was founded. Let us tell you a little about how it all began…
The origin of Pujadó Solano
In 1984, Alfons Pujadó and Milagros Solano, a Catalan-Cantabrian married couple, decided to found the company that would bear their surnames. Deciding to embark on this journey was the natural progression of a family tradition closely linked to the world of fishing and preserves. Milagros, born in Santoña, a town par excellence for anchovy preserves, was the daughter of a fisherman and experienced firsthand the process of making anchovy fillets by working in the canning industry. When she moved to Barcelona in 1956, she brought this knowledge with her and found the ideal place to exploit it: a salted fish stall in the Sagrada Familia market. That was the business of Alfons Pujadó's family, her future husband. There they met and together they worked serving cod alongside their children. Milagros, with her entrepreneurial spirit and never forgetting her Cantabrian roots, began to prepare Cantabrian anchovy fillets and sell them at the stall. The customer response was very good, and it was then, seeing the success of this initiative, that they decided in 1984 to commit to the creation of Pujadó Solano, consolidating their dream.
40 years later: Pujadó Solano is celebrating
40 years and many changes later, here we are. What started in a market in Barcelona has spread to 23 countries. Not only the best anchovies from Santoña, but also boquerones fillets, albacore tuna and other seafood products. Pujadó Solano has evolved and transformed a lot since then, but has never forgotten its original values: a commitment to quality, artisanal elaboration, passion, effort, high standards and commitment. This has been the key to our success.
To celebrate our anniversary, 2024 will be a special year in which we will look back at our journey and share interesting aspects of our history, our evolution, our team, anecdotes, etc. Each month we will focus on a different aspect of the company, in addition to carrying out activities in which you can participate, such as giveaways with special 40th-anniversary packs.
