Valentine’s Day is approaching, and with it those romantic plans in which you share quality time as a couple, whether it’s a lunch, a dinner… what is clear is that gastronomy is central to this unique day in February. That’s why today we’re giving you 6 recipe ideas with anchovies from Santoña that you can easily make at home to impress your loved ones. Here we go:

Grilled watermelon with anchovy and cheese

Ingredients:
- A thick slice of watermelon
- 2 slices of cheese
- Olive oil
- Black salt flakes
- Apple cider vinegar
- yuzu pearls
- Germinated leek sprouts
- Coastal Cantabrian anchovy fillets in olive oil “Extra Selection” from Pujadó Solano
Preparation:
- Cut a slice of watermelon.
- Using a metal cutter, cut the watermelon slice to obtain a round piece of watermelon.
- Put a small splash of olive oil in the pan.
- Grill the watermelon slice on both sides for a few minutes.
- Using the same metal cutter, cut a couple of slices of cheese to obtain round slices.
- Place a round slice of cheese, place the watermelon slice on top, and place another slice of cheese on top of the watermelon slice.
- Top with some sprouted leek shoots, some yuzu pearls and an anchovy.
- Drizzle with olive oil, vinegar and salt flakes.
2) Citrus toast with Palo Santo cheese and Albariño

- EVOO with lemon
- Extra orange marmalade
- Palo Santo cheese with Albariño wine
- Anchovy fillets in extra virgin olive oil from Pujadó Solano
- Serrano ham
- Organic Thyme
- Village Ball
Preparation:
- We lightly toast the slice of bread.
- We add a splash of EVOO with lemon.
- We spread the orange marmalade.
- We add the Albariño cheese, Serrano ham and anchovy fillets.
- Finally the touch of thyme.
3) Salad with anchovy fillets
Ingredients:
- Tomatoes
- Avocado
- Strawberries
- Mozzarella
- Santoña Pujadó Solano anchovy fillets
- Flax seeds
Preparation:
- It’s as easy as cutting all the vegetables and fruits into the shape you like and placing them on a plate around the mozzarella cheese.

- There is not much secret to this tapa, it is very simple and only requires combining these three quality ingredients that offer a unique combination of flavors that will make your fingers lick. A simple and delicious snack.
5) Spaghetti alla puttanesca with anchovies
For those looking to make a more elaborate dish, here is a typical recipe from Italian cuisine that many of you will surely know: spaghetti alla puttanesca, with anchovies being one of its key ingredients. Ingredients (for two people approx.):
- 250 g of spaghetti
- 60 g pitted black olives
- 3 ripe tomatoes or about 250g of tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon of capers
- 4 anchovy fillets from Santoña Pujadó Solano
- 1 clove of garlic
- A tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 small chilli pepper (peperoncino)
Preparation:
- Boil the pasta in water (without much salt since the sauce contains salty ingredients) according to the time indicated by the manufacturer.
- Peel the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes.
- Chop the capers, slice the olives and chop the anchovy fillets.
- In a frying pan with a little olive oil: brown the garlic, chilli or peperoncino and anchovies.
- Once the anchovies have been broken up, add the capers and olives.
- Add the tomato and let it fry.
- Sauté the spaghetti with the sofrito and half a ladle of cooking water for a couple of minutes. And it’s ready!
6) Strawberries with anchovies and condensed milk
Ingredients:
- Strawberries

- Condensed milk
Preparation:
- Yes, you read that right. Although it may seem like a strange combination at first, we assure you that it is delicious. All you have to do is put these ingredients together and voila! You will notice a sweet and salty touch that somehow harmonizes perfectly. You will see.
