The first weekend of May was a busy one! We were at the Anchovy and Canned Fish Fair of Cantabria in Santoña, and also at BioCantabria in Santander. At both fairs, we enjoyed a great atmosphere, a lot of camaraderie, and a strong desire to champion a job well done.
Anchovy and Canned Fish Fair of Cantabria
This year, the Santoña Anchovy Fair was celebrating nothing less than its 20th anniversary!
For us, it was the fifth year attending, and we couldn't be more satisfied. Along with the 21 exhibiting canneries, we enjoyed a gastronomic festival in a privileged location, Santoña's Sant Antonio Square.
We are very happy to have been finalists in the tasting for the best anchovy of 2019 and also for all the congratulations received for the flavor and cleanliness of our anchovies and for the packaging of all our products.
During the three days of the fair, we made no less than 400 pintxos for attendees to taste our anchovies, boquerones, bonito, tapenade, and brandade. We also took the opportunity to launch our new anchovy and boqueron gildas and... we ran out of stock on the first day!
In addition, we had a firsthand experience of the final of the 1st Regional Pintxo Competition with Anchovy, organized by the Anchovy Brotherhood and Diario Montañés. The Café Bar Siete Villas of Santoña won the prize with its pintxo "El Capricho," an explosion of sweet and salty with hints of the sea.

BioCantabria
At the same time, we also attended BioCantabria, the fair for organic products, healthy living, and responsible consumption in Santander.
At the fair, we presented our range of organic gourmet products that adhere to the highest standards of quality, in-season fishing, and use organic ingredients for their preparation, such as organic extra virgin olive oil or organic white wine vinegar.
In addition to being part of the fair as exhibitors, we also participated as speakers! On Sunday, we explained how tradition, experience, the quality of raw materials, demanding work, and innovation are our differentiating features.
It was a real pleasure to share our experience with all attendees and participate in 3 intense days with the other exhibitors.
